It is clear that virtualization takes over every function of the technology infrastructure. Every software-defined structure is transformed into SDx platforms for computing, storage, and networking that implement private, public, and hybrid clouds. The reason to emphasize the management properties of flexibility and scalability may be that achieving cost savings on commodity platforms is more difficult than thought. However, another reason is that the day-to-day operation of these networks requires a more manageable platform.
